I washed using cold water in my front load washing machine and tumbled dry on low. None of the filling bunched up and it fit perfectly like a fitted sheet on my bed with the stretchy polyester siding. The padding was comfortable and not too thick, which is just what I wanted. It did not make me hot or sweat during the night even though I used my heavy down comforter.My only complaint was the backing. Instead of a regular cotton or polyester material like the front they used a flimsy web-like paper thin material - it didn't even look or feel like material but more like paper with tiny holes. A very small amount of filling popped out through those tiny holes while drying. Even though it did not make any crinkling sound when I was in bed just the thought of the backing not holding up for a long period of time was disappointing. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.EDIT: So I have to drop my rating down to a 2. I tried liking this mattress pad but when I washed again more of the filling came out. I just received it and it is only 10% wool - I'm not happy!
