One power supply can power 4 regular, basic cabs. Once you add 4-player cabs, Lighted Marquees, WiFi etc, then you start having to scale back. What I found to work for me was one splitter powering 4 basic cabs (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Final Fight, and Rampage - all original models). A second splitter runs a Turtles in Time original 4P cab (no WiFi or lighted marquee) and a NBA Jam 4P cab (with WiFi, lighted marquee). For OCD readers I also have a Marvel cab and Simpsons 4P cab for the total of 8, but they are placed in a way they have their own power supplies by default. I did try to run more cabs on the second splitter when I started out, but it just couldn't handle it. 4-player cabs may work but only the very early ones with no WiFi or other upgrades. All I can tell you is what ultimately worked for me. I should also clarify these experiments were for an arcade room where all the cabs were running at the same time.
