But its good looks make up for the small size. And it doesn't seem lightweight as some have said. It has stayed put better than my previous doormat, which I had to adjust pretty frequently to keep it square and lined up with the door.To clear up some confusion: one reader claimed it is only 0.6" thick but is advertised as 1.6" thick. The 1.6" in the description is the shipping box dimension and the reader's 0.6" is his measurement of the depth of the fibers (I measured 0.5"). The whole assembly from floor to top of the fibers is a hair under 1.0", which is just about the right thickness for me because the thickness gives it a look of quality, but if it were much thicker it might pose a tripping risk.It has weathered fine for the first month I've had it. It still looks like new, with no compression or shedding. But since there are some people who complained about wear at around 6 months, I'll mark my calendar to update this around December/January.Update, 1/22/11: Well it's January and it is still looking good. It sheds a little but not very noticeably. Admittedly I don't give it a lot of abuse, but still, it is exposed to weather with only enough roof coverage to partially protect it from the wind and rain. I'll stick with the 5 stars. It really looks nice.Second Update, 7/6/12: It's been about 2 years now and it is starting to show its age. The mat material is looking a little scruffy in spots, but the main problem is that the black rubber internal design is chipping off. I have to sweep the porch fairly often to clean up the little black bits of rubber, and parts of the pattern are completely gone. It's still functional for wiping feet but I'm starting to shop for a replacement. I just lowered my rating to 4 stars because, even though I really liked the appearance, I think it should have lasted longer than 2 years with a one-person home. ### ⭐⭐ Seems good at first, but it doesn't last *by M***N on April 22, 2010* I bought this less than 6 months ago and it is already falling apart. If you read the review updates, you will see that I am not the only person this has happened to. I am not sure how much longer it will be usable.Unless you want to buy another mat in less than a year, I would steer clear of this one. There's a reason why it is so inexpensive. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Nice Quality; A Little Small for Typical Door *by J***N on April 20, 2012* I guess I was lazy when I ordered this without measuring my doorway. It's just about 3 inches too narrow, and something that would probably work better on an apartment door. Still, it covers enough of the entry that I think it will work. The quality is very nice and the coco is thickly and tightly woven.
