There are cheaper solutions but they don’t work. Easy to install and it does insulate the tap. When I look over to it though, sometimes the part that goes over the spout has come off (it's attached, so it doesn't get lost and I can put it back but I might not always notice it in the winter). There are a lot of birds around it as it's next to the hedge, and the tap leaks a bit so I suspect that this combination is causing it to happen. Apart from the caps they are made of an expanded foam and you fit using sharp pointed clips that just dig into the foam (like a chunky staple). After a few years this damages the foam so you may need to replace.
