I would give 2 stars for durability and construction. There were black threads all over my beige pillow cases. After removing all of them, I proceeded to unzip the cases. This is when the anxiety kicked it! There were so many threads in the way of the zipper. Its as if they just blindly sewed on the zipper without moving threads and fringe out of the way. I didn’t think I would be able to unzip them! Finally I got both unzipped with very careful maneuvering. So I went out and bought pillows for 18 x 18 and they were still snug, as I was putting them on the pillows the tassels started coming out, I just turned the pillow over so the non tassel side was on the couch so no one could see... as I was fixing my couch this morning all the tassels came out. So I will be returning these. For $40 I would think these would be better quality. They are a true dark navy blue. Other images from reviews made me wonder exactly what shade of blue they were, so I'm here to tell you they are a true navy. All tassels were intact and the covers fit my 12x20" pillows perfectly. I purchased these pillow covers for display only, expecting them to rarely be used, but turns out I have used them a few times for lumbar support while relaxing on my sofa. They seem well made. I wouldn't consider these for homes with small children or animals that might play with or pull off the tassels if that's important to you. I also wouldn't consider these "soft" by any means, but exactly what you might expect from a linen-textured fabric with a frayed design.
