For the kernel I used the "R4 Smart Update Original" (you can find it online easely) because it was more complete with emulators built in for gba and others consoles. I used it on DSi XL and 2ds XL but sadly it can't play 3ds game. The cards/R4/linkers that are capable of that are hard to find, some says you would be better off hacking the console to be able to play 3ds game. This product allows to play games easely without hacking your console and i imagine you can easely lend it to someone. If you struggle there are a lot of tutorial, good luck! Review: This thing is invaluable especially since lots of DS games don't let you keep multiple save files on one cartridge.
