Some things to note about this sunscreen stick: 1) It has a bit of a funny smell, like raw shea butter. Not an unpleasant scent, just different from the fragrances of most skincare products. 2) It’s a solid stick, obviously. The main inactive ingredient is sunflower seed wax which helps it hold its shape. If the stick is cold, then it will be difficult to apply smoothly and will pull on the skin. If you’re having trouble with application, try putting it in your pocket to warm up a bit before applying. You could also heat it *lightly* with a hairdryer. But only very very lightly, as all sunscreens should be kept out of excessive heat. 3) Despite the matte finish, it has a slightly tacky feel to it that doesn’t really go away. Tapping on a bit of face powder helps a little, but it’s more work than it’s worth, to me. 4) And the best for last: this sunscreen is actually sheer. Like most people, I get a white cast from every physical sunscreen I’ve ever tried. This one looks like I have nothing on my face. That being said, I’m a believer that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. So I will update this review after putting the sunscreen to the test in the wild.
