My cat took a couple of days to warm up to it. I was terrified I spent all this money and she wasn't going to use it but she loves it now. It took me placing her on it and forcibly keeping her there with treats but she finally took to it. I went with this tree mainly for its replaceable/interchangeable parts and having a reputable company that won't fall off the face of the world if i need spare parts.
