I added a little tape to make sure of no air leaks. This is a wonderful pump. You won't regret buying it. It has a lot of power! **Q: none of these connectors allow to connect to a garden hose???** A: Mine (1083GPH) came with a 3/4th inch adapter that you can attach a hose to if you cut one of the ends off an old hose. I attached an old garden hose to mine. I just put the end of the hose in near boiling water and it fit right on the 3/4th inch adapter. **Q: Does this pump vibrate loudly to you? I recently purchased one but I'm unsure if it's supposed to be this loud or if I got a bad stock** A: YES. i had three. all loud. could hear pond unit from 10ft outside. Put one on floor of another tank and could hear it in next room through 8" foam SIPs panels. . Had a several yr old eco264 that was almost silent, SOMETHING CHANGED. their 396gph unit is quieter to me. 2x 264s in a plastic tank make as much noise as a small dehumidifier. fwiw eco reef chillers used to be good till "made in china". Now look on here at revies. Lots of problems. Im replacing my Ecoplus units with actual MAG DRIVE pumps. **Q: how high can i pump 12 feet is what i need** A: I am trying pump 4.5' up. I am able to get the flow up to about 4' with very little water flow. It came with a lot of various size adapters and hose fittings which enabled me to hook it to existing hoses. The pump spent all summer outside the pool circulating water through the filter. At the end of the summer I submerged it and drained the pool through a garden hose. It’s extremely quiet. It’s an excellent pump. Moves a lot of water quickly. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars High Hopes, But Disappointing *by A***M on Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2020* I thought this was going to be a game changer to pump water for a filter. Received ok, came with a bunch of mystery fittings which I was a little confused when I needed to buy adapters to fit the fittings that fit them. When I got everything hooked up it worked wonderful. Moderately quiet and head great water pressure for a pond pump. After about 4.5 weeks (just beyond Amazon's 30 day return window) my wife told me that the pump sounded like a garbage disposal. At first I didn't think is was that loud but after a few days continuing to run it was crazy loud, the motor was burnimg hot and kept tripping the GFCI outlet. I pulled the plug for good and brought into my shop for inspection, after the last screw was removed, the front cover of the pump just fell to the ground. The white plastic axle that the impeller rotates on was broke off (it gets worse) I removed the motor rotor and it looked like it had been turning metal to metal with deep grooves etched. The impeller which also was broke off the rotor. A look into the motor housing where the rotor rotates, I could see a crack in the plastic and the metal part of the stator was exposed (explains the deep etched grooves and GFCI tripping from water leaking into the motor housing). I find it hard to understand how such a simple device can be engineered so poorly. Needless to say I was very dissapointed. I am going to try to contact the seller but from the looks of other reviews I may be out about $75.
