Traditional plasterboard fixings, although initially secure often fail over time. I needed a heavy duty drywall anchor that would work on Insulated Concrete Form walls. The drywall in an ICF house mounts directly onto three inches of styrofoam, so there is no cavity behind the plasterboard. Most heavy duty anchors require a fairly deep cavity to work properly, these do not. After drilling the one inch hole (about half an inch into the foam), I used a small pick to remove some more of the foam in the spot where the anchor wings will spread, and Bingo! worked like a charm.
