I’m a carpenter and have been for over 20 years... I had previously worked with a gentleman who had owned one of these hooks and I had used it several times. I thought it was very well made, seemed very durable, and helped in efficiency. And any time a carpenter can be more efficient... it’s a great thing and it’s a money maker.It took me a while to pull the trigger on this, lol. I’ve had it in my cart for some time now. I think at first the initial feeling I had was that it was too much money for the product i was getting. But now that I own one I don’t believe that’s the case... if you think about it even owning one of these is highly worth it.You’ll have guns that come with hooks built into the handle already and you’ll have some guns that don’t have hooks. This product is removable (unlike other hooks that you have to attach/screw into the gun fitting. That means that you can put this on any gun you wish. If you’re doing some finish work it can go on your finish gun, if you’re doing a little framing it’s big enough and durable enough to go on the framing gun.I might purchase another hook down the road. I already know the quality is there, it’s durable, and it works! I think the major thing I’d have to ask myself would be do I want to spend the money to have another. Let’s face it as carpenters we all have a rolling wood shop that we have to make mobile and setup and breakdown almost daily. Constantly adding new tools.. although bettering your ability to do great work... the more tools you have the less efficient you become because your lugging them around. At some point you have to make decisions on how much you’re going to own because pulling them out of a van every day is tiresome and can be a pain!So down the road I’ll have to see if It will make more sense to spend the extra money on a good product like this and/or have another one or just bounce this one I have from gun to gun.All and all I highly recommend. You can tell this thing is built to last!!!One thing I don’t fully understand is the design. Instead of being a full 1-1/2 inches between the hook... which would have made a lot more sense. They choose to go smaller and it’s more like 1-1/4 which is a 1/4 too small to fit over a 2x4 or 2 x stock. It just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me as for the reason they did that. I’m pretty sure if you polled 20 carpenters and asked them what measurements they should have made it... I’d say almost all of them would say it should have been the full 1-1/2. But I’m thinking that was done so maybe if you were framing a roof and you went to hang it on a rafter it wouldn’t slide down the rafter and it will bite into the 2xstock. Maybe? I’m not 100% sure.All and all great, very durable, very well made product probably made my a guy who’s been there before and who’s a carpenter. I can tell...
