It produces a maximum of 91 cfm (cubic feet per minute) of air volume and weighs 3.9 pounds. The XBU03z is the new brushless motor model with 5 times more power (459 cfm) and weighs 6.5 pounds. Both are sold without a battery. I have 6 other Makita tools and have plenty of batteries so glad they sell it that way. The XBU can do jobs much faster. Love mine. **Q: Can i use a 18v bl1830 with this blower. if not can the lxt battery noted for the blower by charged on the bl1830 charger?** A: I don't know about the BL 1830 battery, but it does NOT work with a BL 1815 battery. I bought this unit specifically because I was told by a Makita salesperson that all Makita 18V tools work with all Makita 18V batteries. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Returning this blower. **Q: Battery Life? How long will it work with 5amp battery on the Highesr level?** A: I’m using this blower and purchased the Makida 18v 5ah batteries. My total run time mostly at high speeds was exactly 12 minutes. Replaced the dead battery with a fresh Makida 18v 5ah and another test was conducted also at high speed. The second result was timed at a little over 14 minutes. I never came close to the advertisement time of 20 minutes at constant high speed. **Q: Does the 6.5 weight include the weight of the battery? If not, what does the battery weigh?** A: I suggest at least 4ah Makita brand battery. The 4ah weight 1.33 lbs. Love the blower.
