All actions are smooth. Unlike other reviews everything stays straight when loosened enough to swing and swivel. I have a Canon 1D IV with Tamron 200-500 mounted on it and it’s solid when locked and accurate when moving. It’s heavy, which is why it’s cheaper than others that are carbon fiber, but it works great. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars I hoped for better. Unless all the knobs are tightened down its unstable. The swinging part moves in more of a figure 8 instead of a swinging motion. That kinda defeats the purpose. The compass doesn’t even work on it (that doesn’t matter in the big picture). Also there is a grinding metal on metal feeling to the moving parts.
