The bar does not bend, but the resistance to hold up is limited. I added a socket (cups) screwed to the wall and expanded the bar into the two sockets and its now perfect. Slim, lightweight, removable. It is about the circumference of two #2 pencils combined. I had to look back into the box to make sure there was not more to it. It is not worthy of its cost. It does not support much weight if any at all before it collapses. In all honesty, I gonna assume that they figure if they can just get people to get this thing to the house, then they more than likely will not return it because the return shipping will at least be half of the price of it. I am more than likely going to return it, regardless, just for the principal that it should not be for sale for more than 2 or 3 bucks.
