I feared this might produce extremely large files, but the result averaged about 5MB. I was surprised at how degraded some of my slides/negatives had become. Does it generate heat?** A: I believe this product is great, especially for its price point. There are 2 things it's not: 1) A high end professional scanner for Pro photographers. 2) A high volume machine - you have to scan each slide/negative then upload it to your computer, do some editing/clean up. But if you have some highly desirable film you want to upload to fb and don't mind doing some work - this will do the job. Otherwise send you film to a service and let them do it. **Q: what is the maximum resolution of this device in megapixels?** A: 20mp as advertised by the manufacturer. **Q: It keeps saying it's full. i've got it hooked up via hdmi to laptop and an sd card <32gb. it will read but won't save. suggestions?** A: I don't use a SD card. I save direct onto the device then hook up directly to the computer via the USB No problems encountered saving and the deleting.
