After first cleaning the wound, use the sponge with light pressure. Then apply the gauze, folded over IF there's still considerable bleeding, or just wrapped around if the sponge was enough to stop the bleeding. As fate would have it, I took a bit of the end of my thumb off with a kitchen knife. Too much for a bandaid, maybe enough to go to MedExpress. I decided to give this a try. Some of this and some self-adhesive wrap and in a couple of days things were good. Saved me $90 on the medical bill and I used about 1/4 of a strip. Yes, I would recommend this product.
