You could add a dimmable switch I think. **Q: I currently use a 36” downrod on my fan. If I purchase a separate 36” downrod for this one, do I need 3/4” or 1/2” diameter, and is there enough wire?** A: It is important check the diameter of this fan's downrod. In my case , this fan came with 4" & 10" downrod , so the electrical wire is only good for 10" downrod . I needed 36" because we have high ceiling. I think the diameter of the downrod is 1" so I thought of ordering from Amazon a separate 36" downrod but seem I can't find the exact diameter , so we used our old downrod & same with the wire . Since the old 36" downrod was white , I painted it with metallic gold to match the new fan . You can still find the right length of downrod try to the Parrot Store or Amazon . That time , I can't find 1" diameter & Parrot store ( online) there's not much to inquire , they kept saying go to Amazon but then Amazon pushed me back to Parrot . I wasn't really happy with the process but I like the fan , it's elegant . **Q: What shade of gold; is the gold fan?** A: I got the grey and silver tone , not the gold **Q: Can i customize down rod length? If so how? I need longer length** A: Sure , you can customize it as long as the diameter of the downrod is right . We customized ours . This fan came with 4" & 10" downrod , meaning , the electrical wires are only good for 10" downrod . If you will customized it with longer downrod ,you will need to extend the wires according to the desired length of your downrod .
