The first one we received had a glass or focal point issue, not allowing you to see an image through the unit. The replacement was properly built, but even at minimum zoom, image quality is slightly unclear and difficult to view through the eyepiece. In general, the build and component quality is very low. We bought this scope as an entry level scope for birding and it was useless as you can't make out any details due to poor image quality. This scope might be useful to look across an expanse at larger objects/animals that don't require detail, but even then, I think binoculars would be a better option. Unfortunately the return option was shorter on the replacement and we're now stuck with a useless scope...
