It really absorbs a lot of urine and you can always add another packet if you want a more solid gel. We used to use a more expensive brand that came in a bulk jar that you had to scoop. These packets are so much more convenient, especially when we have several people in camp and have to tell them how to use the "facilities". These packets keep the powder sealed so it doesn't absorb moisture before you use it. It does help with odors but only after it’s absorbed and that could take hours. The two minute thing isn’t really realistic. It does start to absorb by 2 minutes but it’s not nearly enough time to do it’s job. You have to be patient. And that goes for the others as well, this is my second try with pretty much the same gelling product but different manufacturer. It works the same.
