We put them outside for a week to let them breathe, but the smell remained even weeks later. High density polyethylene generally doesn’t smell, so it must be the glue that they’re using to adhere the “plant” to the backing. I originally put them up in my kids’ bedroom, as the description said it was non toxic and suitable for indoor use. I got very concerned about the off gassing of the glue into my kids room and had to tear down the tiles and return the product for safety concerns. The tiles looked beautiful and went up on our kids’ bedroom wall easily - I would only recommend if you have an outdoor project. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I tried to avoid being a hipster yet, my style falls along that line lol *by S***9 on Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2018* I absolutely love them!
