I used this to bond a vinyl trim piece from the edge of a desk top piece back to the desk top after sawing off a section of the desk so that it would be shorter. The hardest part of the project was removing the residue from the trim piece after peeling it off. The desk is a commercial desk, and the desktop is a very densely packed press board of some sort--much better than the stuff you buy from Warfair or similar. I was concerned that the glue may not stick well enough to the super smooth edge of the desktop after I sawed it with a circular saw blade designed for finish cuts. This glue did a fantastic job. It is very tacky right from the start, so even though I had several long wood clamps, I really didn't need them. The glue held the vinyl in place after firmly pressing it in place. I did use the clamps to really press the vinyl trim tightly against the edge of the desktop, but then I could remove them entirely and the vinyl stayed put. I do recommend that you clean up any excess as early in the process as possible, as it is very sticky, so removing excess will be more difficult once it dries.
