This product does dry completely. Feels sort of like latex when dried. This is a barrier coating, so a thick build really wouldn’t accomplish anything. **Q: What color is it?** A: Mostly to semi-transparent with a yellowish-brown tint. So it will basically look like whatever it was before but slightly darker with a brown tint. **Q: would this work to prtect welded aluminum pipe boat top, florida sun & saltwater with drentching and salty air, protect and not feel greasy to hands??** A: I don’t think it’s going to work for something that you have to touch . Would be great for the inside of the tubing. **Q: Is this suitable for rustproofing the inner surface of a steel bicycle frame, and how long will it last in there, mostly protected from outside?** A: That would an an excellent application for MaxWax and even more so, because In an enclosed area, the VCI (vapor phase corrosion inhibitor) would protect any metal surface you missed coated. Now I love Corrosion Tech's products (Reel-X, Speed-X, Corrosion-X) so when I saw this was a waxed based spray intended for exactly what my son was conveying it was a no brainer over the hours of elbow grease vs a spray can. Been a few very wet months now and it's still bright and shiny whereas the one or two small areas I missed will need some attention removing that light reddish crust thats started to appear on those areas. I also used it on my table saw surfaces.
