I bought this makeup sponge cleaner the same day that I knew of its existence, and I’m so happy that I did because I absolutely adore it! I’m only 31 years old, but I’ve already had carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand, and need it done on my left hand, so the many squeeze/resoak/squeeze/resoak that it took to wash/rinse my makeup sponges could sometimes become extremely painful. So much so that my husband would offer to do that part. Having this makeup sponge cleaner on hand has eliminated the need for me to have help from anyone, while doing something that can be extremely satisfying to watch! Watching all the foundation being mashed out of the sponge and then also being spun out is very satisfying! I will admit that sometimes after the sponge cleaner has finished spinning, I have found a watered down “line” of foundation in the clean sponges that was created from it being clamped down in the cleaner/spinner. To combat this, I do a rinse cycle. I mash all of my sponges individually for the initial cleaning, but for my “rinse cycle” I just add clean boiling water into the bowl and mash them one more time, but altogether. Then I do one additional spin for each sponge/blender. I normally put my sponges in a lingerie mesh bag and toss them in the washing machine after using a bit of Dawn dishwashing detergent. Yes, some makeup stains remain on the sponge but since I use hot water, I know they are clean and disinfected and I really don't have to do much else.This kit requires a LOT of steps for the same outcome although it does remove stains. I just don't like the cleanser that is used with the system since my sponges feel like they have used makeup remover oil on them and I feel that I really need to clean them again in hot water to remove that residue.Steps:Dampen sponge and place in bowl. Soak your dirty makeup sponge in 20ml of Vegan Sponge Sparkle Cleanser.For best results, massage cleanser in using the press.Carefully fill the bowl to the fill line, with recently boiled water.Push the button on the press, pull the handle up and lock the press open.Using the open press, knead the makeup sponge a few times against the bowl base.For best results, wait 60 seconds. Scoop up the makeup sponge with the press, push the button and carefully squeeze it closed.Attach the pebble, and spin your sponge to its former glory!
