This part touches the ground and can become worn out from rubbing against the ground, rocks, cement borders, etc. so instead of purchasing an entire new speed head you can purchase just the worn cap replacement. My original cap lasted about two years of heavy use. **Q: Will this fit srm 225 echo** A: Yes, it will fit (as long as your Echo SRM 225 has a Speed Feed 400 Trimer Head). This is the head that loads without taking the cap off (and advances by bumping the head). Check to make sure that you have the spring (that resides inside the cap).
