Or am I best to colour remove and then apply this?** A: Hi, Sadly our permanent colours are not transformative and applying 6.5 on top of 5.5 will not lighten your colour. However, there is no need to use a colour remover! We instead recommend cleansing your hair with a heavy sulphate-based shampoo such as head and shoulders. Once lathered into the hair leave this to emulsify for 15 minutes before rinsing to alleviate as much of the colour from the hair as possible. Follow with a deep conditioning mask such as the Josh Wood Colour Miracle Mask to prevent any damage to the hair and ensure it stays shiny and healthy after using a heavy shampoo. After this, you should start to see the colour subside and lighten, you can then apply the lighter colour for the best results. Best, Becky Josh Wood Colour ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Natural and no reds! *by K***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 July 2023* I always use another brand hair dye if I haven’t been to the hair dressers.I have balayage hair - brown to dark ish blonde!I was unable to get in to the salon and had pesky grey hair starting to make an appearance so I thought I’d try this dye out as the last L’Oréal one I used did have a red hue to it despite it being a flat 7.I popped on about half an inch wide to the hair either side of my part line and just blended out with my fingers - making sure it was not a straight line to the hair. I then pulled the dye through a few sections right to the end.I used some on the under sections of my hair too, but only small amounts just to add some of the brown and break up the blonde.After shampooing / condiotioning and drying I was actually really really impressed.The roots are natural looking - no red / gold flashes under lighting.The bits that I had blended into my main hair just made it look more natural, took out some of the blonde and linked the roots to my actual hair colour.I think my hair dresser would actually be impressed!The dye and conditioner smells absolutely amazing.No chemical / dye smell at all.Instructions were so easy to follow.Box and content have you covered, and make it very easy to apply.I shall be using this product again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Josh wood light brown hair dye *by E***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 May 2023* I.
