I have not changed a thing with my usage. I'm listing my background to let you know I know what I'm talking about on this topic.These do NOT lower your electrical bill by magically plugging them in. They "could" protect your electronics from small surges or irregularities on your circuit, but they don't even do a good job at that. Technically these use some electricity so they will raise your bill (by a few pennies).I knew they wouldn't lower my electric bill, but I bought them because my lights pulse when my wife uses her hair drier. Instead of the normal slow click on and after a while a click off caused by most power hungry devices hers causes a fast pulse. All of the lights on that circuit pulse. It makes my mornings annoying.To solve that I need a capacitor to be added into the circuit. I saw this device and figured that's what it was doing. Hopefully it would get rid of all of the highs and lows and remove the strobe light effect her device was causing. This device lowered the effect slightly, but not by much. I knew it was going to fail as soon as I picked up the device. It was too light. Large compositors are heavy. This isn't.I will cut this case open, remove the internals, add capacitors and reseal the case. That will solve my light pulsing issue. So I'll simply be using it for it's case/plug.
