We walk at dusk and the leashes are definitely visible in low light, even the non reflective side. It looks very poorly made. I was only able to use it a couple of days. My dog pulled at me after seeing a squirrel and the leash snapped in two pieces. The adjustable length gives me a a lot more control over the new dog and the doubled over portion gives me a second "handle" of sorts.
