They are not sound cancelling by any means by they cover your entire ears and muffle the sound around you when not on, and when music is playing usually very little outside noise can be heard.The headphones themselves hold together well, no pieces breaking off or bending, I treat my pair nicely, but if you sat on them they metal pieces that run from speaker to speaker might bend.The only complaint I have is that I thought I was going to get a more metallic blue color when in reality it's more of a metallic baby blue color. Not their fault just my perception.The sound quality is good and surprisingly leveled well, not too much treble and not too much bass.If you can pick up a pair of these for $20-$30 I would highly reccomend it, they are great headphones at a fair price and are really good for using to listen to music while walking, reading, recording music, or watching movies on your computer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic for the Price *by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2010* These headphones retail for $29.99 but I only paid $18 here on Amazon. It was a no-brainer because they looked so cool and I wanted something to fit over-the-ear. They fit the bill there. I was willing to take a chance on them for $18 and hope they were at least decent. Well I think they're great for the money. They look awesome, are lightweight and sound just fine. I'm no audiophile but they sound great to me. The single sided cord is a major plus too, no more tangles!Also, the painted ear cups are plastic to reduce weight which is good in my book. The only thing I would suggest with these to just to take care of them. they aren't top quality nor are they designed to take a beating. But they're lightweight, look awesome and sound great...all for under $20. It's an absolute no brainer. This pair is a great size, light weight, and deliver a surprising amount of bass (especially using the bass booster setting in iTunes) I can't say I have any complaints for pair of 20 dollar headphones.
