I didn't know that many of said chemicals require a higher air pressure when applied via airbrush, and my cordless compressor just can't do that. The topcoat badly clogged the airbrush that came with the cordless compressor, and the nozzle split when I tried to clean the airbrush. The nozzle was integrated into the airbrush's nose, so I couldn't simply replace the nozzle or even the needle. I decided to get another single action airbrush, but didn't want to pay a lot. Enter this CHIMAERA airbrush. It works like a charm, and unlike the airbrush that came with the cordless compressor, is fully serviceable. While I no longer try to airbrush thick mixtures using the cordless compressor, I'm glad that should something happen to this airbrush, I can just replace individual parts and keep using this airbrush. I've used this airbrush with the cordless compressor a couple of times and again, it works like a charm. I am only spraying thinned paint with this airbrush, and haven't had any issues out of the ordinary; tip drying is easily cleared away and the whole airbrush is easily cleaned with standard airbrush cleaner. So if you need a good single action airbrush at a lower price, this is one to consider! Review: Replaced my Luminess - I bought a Luminess Air in December 2017 and it broke a couple weeks ago after I disassembled it for cleaning and then didn’t work quite right when I put it back together. I hated to buy a new brush from them for 60 some dollars. I was irritated with their shady auto subscription service (they wouldn’t let me opt out of it until the package was on my door step in 2 weeks, probably hoping I would forget and get an extra charge out of me) and didn’t really want to give them any more business. I’ve bought this one from desertcart and it works great! All the components of an airbrush seem pretty standardized. I don’t see what could possible make one airbrush cost 3 times more than it’s identical twin besides paying more for the name brand. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out they were made in the same factory. It’s sounds like these types of air brushes tend to need replacement every year or 2 and I will happily pay 20 dollars a year for nice make up. Edit: i have owned this for a while now but i do have one observation which applies to this air brush and the luminess. You have to clean them out. Even if i spray water through it every time, about every 2 weeks it gets plugged up and you have to take it apart and soak it in warm water. When my luminess plugged i couldnt figure it out. Now that i have played around with it a bit i found the clog was in the very very tip where the needle sticks out. It is the tiniest piece that unscrews and i had to use a pair of tweezers to turn it. Since i found that out i have cleaned my old luminess and have found the parts are interchangable with this airbrush.
