It is lik eating 2 squares. They are thicker than the average belguan waffle. **Q: If i not mistaken this are only the plates. Where can i buy the waffel maker?** A: Not sure. I had one it stopped working. It was replaced and about year later it stopped working and I could not find a replacement. I tried everything I could to reach the original company since Amazon wasn't carrying it anymore. Finally the insurance I purchased when I bought the maker paid me for the unit that couldn't be replaced. I have all the different plates and no waffke iron to use them on. When it was working it was awesome.
