The gold is a real dark gold..not yellowish...but dark almost a gold/taupe color. It wasn't my favorite but honestly with the others and our burlap, pink and white decor it looked good! The poms have instructions and it took me about two poms to get the hang of opening them properly. I never managed to get them perfectly round - but close! They are of good strong material and I actually had one on a outside display that got rained on - it looked just as good the days following the rain! I've stored the others for future showers!
