In an attempt to fix this I got a dupicolor paint pen, of which I learned applies a high volume of paint to the surface I applied it to. Which lead me to have to wet sand it down to get a mostly clear finish. And this allowed me to sand with relative stability! If you are looking to wet sand yourself here is all I utilized: 1.
