    Wonderful love story

*by S***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 3, 2017*

Molly is a famous advice columnist and author. She writes under a pseudonym, so she can lead an anonymous life. Molly is a love expert and thinks she knows everything about relationships. She doesn't want one herself though. After a traumatic experience she is content spending time with her dog Valentine and doesn't want to be with anyone ever again. That is until she meets Daniel, a cynical divorce lawyer. Daniel is interested in Molly and they have plenty of chemistry. However, Molly doesn't want to date. Will Daniel be able to change her mind?Daniel knows what kind of damage a bad marriage can do to people, especially to children. He helps people to break up and thinks he knows exactly how relationships work. That's also why he doesn't want one. Until he meets Molly and her dog Valentine in the park and borrows a dog so he can talk to her. There's something between Molly and Daniel, but they both aren't ready to see it. Will they be able to give love a chance or are they too convinced relationships will never be in the cards for them?New York, Actually is a wonderful romantic story. Molly is a sweetheart. She genuinely wants to help people and she's giving good advice. She has caring friends and has finally got the support system she deserves, but after everything that happened to her in the past Molly finds it hard to trust. She's such a great person and I kept hoping she'd discover that there are kindhearted people in the world as well, with friendly personalities, genuinely interested in her happiness. Daniel is the perfect man for Molly. They challenge each other, there are plenty of sparks between them and they have a fantastic intellectual click. I loved his determination and his fabulous flair. I couldn't wait to find out if they'd give each other a chance and read the book in one sitting because of it.Sarah Morgan has a terrific warm writing style that always manages to cheer me up as soon as I start reading her stories. I love that feelgood factor. She combines it with beautiful relationships. Both friendship and love are important in her books, which is something else I really like. New York, Actually is a story about professionally successful people who have been through a lot emotionally. Sarah Morgan writes about their pain in an honest open way and balances this with a lot of light and joy. I enjoyed that very much. New York, Actually is another spellbinding From Manhattan With Love story that I highly recommend.

    Such an enjoyable read

I couldn’t put the book down once I started. I was hooked at the fact that the male lead had to borrow a dog to get a woman’s attention. I obviously had to see how it played out. The book was packed with humor and little things that had me chuckling. I love that in a book; and the rapport between the characters kept me tuned in. The story itself was well-paced with a lot of meaningful comments that are relatable, we got to see how the protagonists’ started their rocky relationship and watched as it grew into something more despite the misunderstandings and wariness that were present. I loved Daniel’s patience, determination, and perseverance in getting Molly to have a conversation with him and start a relationship, even if he did originally have less than moral plans in mind. The big secret that Molly was hiding came as a surprise to me, I’m surprised the male lead took her seriously from the get-go because I definitely wouldn’t have been able to keep a poker face. I was a little annoyed that Molly was stuck on believing her past relationship history was true, I felt like she gave her exes too much credit, especially the last one. I’m so glad Daniel finally helped her see the truth. The ending was a bit predictable, but the book gave off a different flavor that made me pick it up in the first place. This is the second novel that I’ve read from this author after enjoying her “Playing by the Greek’s Rules” featuring a quirky female lead. I’m glad to see that the humor she injects into her novels hasn’t changed.

    Wonderful early summer read!

Another great read from Sarah Morgan! It's great to be back in New York and getting to know Molly, Daniel, Valentine and Brutas. Can a woman who thinks she can't fall in love and only hurt men find Love? Molly has certainly had her fair share of ups and downs in life and love. If it wasn't for her furry friend Valentine she sometimes thinks she can't keep it together. Molly is great at giving advice for a living but, can she take her own advice? Can a divorce lawyer who doesn't believe in getting involved in relationships realize that maybe he could. Daniel has a heart of gold and only pretends to be a tough guy. He didn't have a great life growing up. He has seen first hand how divorce can affect families. While in Central Park Daniel sees Molly and Valentine and wants to meet her. He decides to borrow a German shepherd named Ruffles from his sisters who run a dog walking and rescue business. So he can walk him in the park and meet Molly. He changes Ruffles name to Brutus and so the meetings begin. After a few tries and some problems along the way they become close but yet they both hold secrets from each other. More ups and downs. Can they make this relationship work? You will find yourself laughing, crying, praying things will work out for them. Their ups and downs become part of you. It's a can't put down read!
