The winds seemed to get stronger as time passed. They did not diminish at all. I feared that my umbrella would fly away, crumple, or snap in half. I was pleasantly surprised that none of this happened. My beach umbrella held firm. I saw several other people's umbrellas give out. Many others didn't bother deploying theirs because they surely knew it wouldn't go well with the extreme winds.
