Review: Surprised by the range - I'm giving it a thumbs up. First question, what are the con's? Only one thing that needs improvement. Better instructions for set up. Fortunately there are lots of Youtube videos out there showing people setting this thing up. So I figured it out but not without scratching my head a few times wondering what I was doing wrong. Ok, so for the good part. Once it was set up......correctly..... It worked great. In fact it did better than I expected. I live on a 4 acre lot that is longer than it is wide. The lot has a house, swimming pool barn and a garden behind the barn. It is 360 feet to the barn from the back of my house. I set the extender by my pool which is half way between the barn and the house. I get full service out of this little antenna from the road in front of my house all the way to the garden behind my barn. That is a huge area. So absolutely no complaints about the range, signal or speed. I'm sure some folks may get a little different range due to environment, buildings, and various obstructions but I can say I'm thrilled with the product. I recommend it.
Review: So far - Excellent - This is the most powerful extender i have ever owned by far. Excellent coverage and reliability. i cannot say it was easy to set up. It took repeated attempts until i got just the right settings. But there were some helpful Youtube videos on my model, and some other helpful webpages and i eventually got it. i am not a TCP/IP wifi expert, so some of the menu choices were uncertain. The manual appears to be Chinese in origin, next extensive, but don't give up on it. It has not wintered yet, but seems well designed and durable. The POE works great and gives direct access with a second ethernet cable. Aesthetically it looks very scientific. i recommend it and if it fails i will edit this review.

**Q: Do you need a computer to download any software or is that not needed**
A: DON'T need to download any software, don't even need a computer to set it up, you can just use your phone to easy set up.
If you want to manage your WiFi anytime, you can download a smart app to control, this is the only app if you need.

**Q: If I buy multiple, can I set one to a repeater?**
A: Hi, yes, you can set one to a repeater. Repeater Mode: If you want to use this Router as a WiFi Range Extender, please select “WISP” as your Connection Type.
WISP Mode(Repeater Mode) - Way 1 - Setup by your phone or ipad (almost any device including iOS and Android mobile platform)
Step 1: Plug this product into a power outlet as close to your target router as you can
Step 2: Remember to hold up the antennas 
Step 3: Switch the ON/OFF button to “ON”, wait until the POWER LED is on and solid blue 
Step 4: Connect Wi-Fi signal “WAVLINK-XXXX” or “WAVLINK-AC-XXXX” in WLAN setting on your phone, No password will be required the first time you are connecting. Once you are connected to the product, it may no internet open. That is all right. Please continue the setup process 
Step 5: Open a browser on your phone, then type any one of the two links: 192.168.10.1 or wifi.wavlink.com 
Step 6: Enter the default password “admin” and click the “Login” 
Step 7: After logging in, you will see the main interface, then select “Internet”. 
Step 8: In this window of “Internet”, select “WISP” as your Connection Type, then click “OK”
Step 9: In this window of “WISP”, you will see the product scanning wireless signal for SSID, please select the SSID of your target router from the list. Above the list, set the extended SSID for 2.4G WiFi and 5G WiFi, please type the wifi password of your target router, make sure that it is the same as your wifi password before you click on connect.
Step 10: Now the product will connect to the target router. Normally, the percentage bar may take up to two minutes to reach one hundred, so please be patient. Once the bar reaches one hundred, the WLAN led indicator on the product will go from flashing to staying on. If you want to test your internet connection, please connect to the extended SSID(2.4G or 5G) of the product from the list of wifi networks, the password is same as router’s wifi password.

**Q: Can i connect usb adapter to this router?**
A: Yes. It has USB port, you can connect usb adapter to this router.

**Q: The wifi signals on 2.5g or 5g are faster than the 100mps lan ports?**
A: No

### ⭐ Wavlink M12 impossible to configure in repeater/bridge mode - defective

I tried to 2 months to get this outdoor wifi repeater to reconfigure to my ssid network. I finally called a professional networking company and they sent a man out to set it up for me. He failed for the very same reason as me. The wizard will run on the Wavlink network after you climb the 15 ft high pole to hit the reset button, but at the end of the process you have to click on the wizard "refresh" button. What that does, as explained to me, is have DHCP select an ip address from the router rather than Wavlink. This function fails every time on this unit. Without an ip address, the unit can not communicate with my router. I have a SIMILAR Wavlink model that worked, after a while. Once reset to my ssid by selecting Repeater Bridge mode, it is great. Until then, useless. I THOUGHT I was getting the same model when I selected, BUY AGAIN, but it wasn't. So, $250 later - $100 for the unit and $150 for the pro techie to come out and fail just like me, the solution is "Buy another brand of Extender". So, that will cost me another $150. Additionally, Wavlink support is terrible. You have to send an email to CHINA and wait 12 hours for a reply. In my case, their recommendation was to set the unit to AP mode which would have required running a cable 600 ft to my router. Why buy a wifi extender that doesn't function in wifi mode?
