Start with the finer brush with light pressure on a inconspicuous surface as a test. Be careful with toilet seats as they are made of plastic or painted wood and would probably scratch that surface. **Q: I want to scuff up some paint on metal (aluminum) so new paint will adhere, will these work or are they too abrasive?** A: Yes, they will work.
