I always had to race the water as it filled my shallow shower lip lol I had it down to a pretty good system but it got old. I did a little research and went with this product and I'm very happy with it! I slow poured the product just outside my drain, allowing both chemicals to mix before filling the drain. As I let it sit a little over a hour I boiled a pot of water. When the time was up I slowly poured the slightly boiling water down the drain. Then I ran my hot water wide open for several minutes. I didn't think it worked at first but the following day when I showered I wasn't racing the flood.
