They are super strong, and have held their shape. I bought them to help my boyfriend with his terrible back problems and they don't do much in the way of helping him stretch and realign. I've used them myself as well with minimal success in relieving back pain, which was what they were marketed for. For the price, these don't really seem worth the money. I haven't ever really found much that helped other than an alternating schedule of massage and chiropractics. The only issue is that even though I am only paying my co pay to do those things, it still adds up big time and is one of the first things I cut back on when money is tight. As a result, I have spent many late night hours, searching the internet for something to help my pain, and I have tried a good amount of solutions that either don't help at all or only help for a short time. So when I got the Plexus wheels, I was super excited because most of the reviews were pretty good.If you suffer from constant pain, but are used to having to put yourself in more pain temporarily (like with deep massage for me) in order to feel any relief, then this will be perfect for you. After watching my husband try and fail to use it, I concluded that you have to be used to subjecting yourself to pain in order to allow yourself to sufficiently relax your back muscles on the wheel. Only when you can relax and breathe, does your back really start getting those good cracks.I find that if I use the wheel consistently I do not have as much overall pain as I used to, however you should take care not to spend too much time on it. Some people might be okay with laying on the wheel for a while, but I have found if I do it for too long, I end up more sore. I usually start with the biggest wheel, and work my way down and use the smallest wheel mostly between my shoulder blades.I had seen some reviews talking about the padding on the wheels not being great, so I'll address that too. It does seem to pretty much be a thick yoga mat wrapped around the wheel, and the seam is not flush, but I don't really find this to be an issue when using it. I think it is still enough padding to be nice to my back, and the fact that the edges are not perfectly aligned don't hurt its function at all for me.Overall, I would say if you are like the many people writing these reviews, and myself, and suffer from constant back pain, it is worth a shot whether it ends up working personally for you or not. I would say to give this a fair shot at working for you, give it a week of doing it a couple times a day and getting used to it, then go a few days without using it at all and see if you feel stiff. If you feel worse after not using it, then go back to using it and be happy, and if not then return it and get a refund.
