I pressed the piezo lighter every five seconds or so. I also did blow on the pilot area with compressed air too. **Q: Can the heater be used in a RV?** A: This unit needs a tank in it's back and it's against fire codes to have any tank bigger than 1 pound size indoors. So they can't say "OK for indoor use" on this. That said, I doubt there's much difference in how these burn the gas and the "Big Buddy" heaters for a comparison (where those "Big Buddy" ones can say "OK for indoors" since they can use small tanks). Many fear the burning gas can kill them (like running a generator indoors will do), but these burn much cleaner than engines and are more like a gas stovetop. No one dies from boiling potatoes for a couple hours on the kitchen gas stoves, do they? So these also won't kill you from the way they burn the propane. There's always cautions of gas leaks, keeping heat away from flammables, etc, but it gives heat. FYI the Big Buddy unit can connect into the RV propane gas lines via a hose like the F271802 so you don't need to run a special hose out a window just for it (but can run it longer than 3 hours on the small tanks). So that's another thing to consider about it (as well as space it takes up, etc). **Q: Our heater won't light easy all the time. It says it will but it doesn't HELP!!** A: Reread the directions and follow faithfully. Any time I had trouble, it was by skipping a step. Otherwise I have had no problem starting my heater. **Q: I purchase this heater just the other day, I can't remember if, it's an adapter, or a regulator that I need, can anyone advise? Thank you.** A: Mine had the regular on the hose already, screw the wheels on hook up the 20lb talk and you are ready to go.
