To match my purchase to the spline I was replacing, I used a drill gauge to measure the old spline and then ordered the appropriate size. If you don't have a drill gauge, you can take a sample of the old spline to Lowes and try and match it up with the spline they sell there. **Q: what is the id of this product?** A: great replacement product. works excellent **Q: Is it truly .250 dia most everyones elses is .220 dia and measure so??** A: Mine was within .010 of .250 throughout **Q: What size should I get for an average window screen that needs to be replaced talking about diameter ?** A: Next size smaller.
