ANC good for motor/fan noise. *by M***T on Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2022* ANC:ANC works really well on a low humming dehumidifier motor in an upstairs room, completely inaudible. Full size pedestal fan next to me gets cut down by about 75%, pretty good. Air conditioner in the window about 2 yards away is a bit worse than the fan, but probably still 65% reduction while the loud compressor motor is running. Higher pitched desktop computer fans only about 40-50% reduction.Small note: The ANC will definitely be affected by your fit/seal. The included tips don't fit me very well, so I am using some other tips I had around that make a good seal (currently Sony style tips or Final Type E)Sound:The overall sound is fairly V shaped.Tons of sub bass but quickly comes down to reasonable levels at the mid-bass and a healthy extra dose of upper-mid sibilance and treble.The upper-mid sibilance and treble is manageable with aftermarket tips, thankfully.Surprisingly the mid bass to the mids do sound like they're tuned quite well and sound good as opposed to plasticky or otherwise low-quality.With aftermarket tips and just a bit of sub-bass EQ reduction this sounds quite balanced.The actual quality of the driver seems pretty good, as the sound is not the plasticky type that you often get with cheap earbuds.Sound quality is on par with the QCY T18 [$50], and better than the OnePlus Nord Buds [$40] (Nord buds are that plasticky sound, but are well tuned for bass/mids/treble) and sounds quite similar in sound quality to a classic like the Blon BL03. But do not mistake the sound "quality" with the overall tuning of the bass, to mids, to treble volume.The sub bass region is very boosted from the mids/vocals as a baseline; probably +15db (+5dB over a reasonable level), and the upper-mids and treble are probably +3dB above neutralish on the included tips.I wouldn't recommend it for music listening unless you can tinker with aftermarket tips and/or EQ. If you can manage that, this is a good value when considering the ANC with the potential for good sound.As mentioned earlier, the sub-bass is closing in on +15 db at around 60hz and below when compared to vocals, for reference I do use and enjoy earphones such as the Fiio FH3 which has around +10db in the same region which is quite a lot by most standards outside of bass heads.Without using aftermarket tips or EQ it gets sibilant in the upper-mids and quite harsh in the treble. Narrower bore tips (unless very short) make it nicely listenable, but still a bit boosted, if you can't EQ. With Final Type E or cheap Sony clone style tips work well, anything with a narrower than average bore should work, assuming it will fit on the TWS nozzle. With Sony/Final style tips I only have to EQ the bass down in the sub bass 60hz region by about 4 or 5db and this actually sounds good without messing with upper-mids/treble.So if you're a bass head and have extra tips to tinker around with, this might be a great option if there aren't other bass head TWS out there.-NOT recommended if you are new to earphones like this in-ear style, you either need to know a bit about EQ or have aftermarket tips to get these sounding good.-UNLESS you just want half decent sound with half decent ANC.$50 for this seems like a good price if you put in a bit of extra work. If they just nailed the sound this would be an amazing deal out of the box.-My current configuration: I believe it's worth $50 like this: (quick/easy mode) EQ down the 55hz band -4 or -5db, 77hz -1 or -2db in Foobar2000 android or whatever you like, and use narrow bore tips for the sibilance/treble. Final Type E are probably the easiest to find.Speaking of aftermarket tips helping the sound quite a bit, this case is great for fitting larger aftermarket tips without having to remove them to charge.
