(see all the 5-star reviews I've given). I admit I'm biased. But, even I must admit, Ascension: Rise of Vigil is THE set where Ascension went from being a very good deck-building game, to a GREAT deck-building game! No question about it. In geek terms, this is when Basic AD&D became Advanced AD&D, or when Star Wars went from A New Hope to The Empire Strikes Back! From this set on, Ascension has gone from strength to strength and never looked back. If you have to buy only ONE set, make it this one. I really like the speed of the game, the only thing that slows it down is teaching it to new players. Veterans can easily play through in about half an hour. A lot of fun if you like deck building games that hit the sweet spot of not to intricate and not to simple.
