It is all metal unlike others where the mounting insert is plastic and the crossbars are aluminum. The side mounting bolts have large head, like Ford OEM where i've seen others are skinny or needs washers. The underside are bolts are slotted and slightly adjustable. Like the previous review, it only fits the top most and rear most position but not the middle, which is what i wanted since I'll be using it for kayak. Manual does say rated for 165 lbs. Most of these are rated at 100 lbs or say 150 but manual says 100. You've earned my 5 star rating. 2017 Ford Explorer Limited edition. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Rear bar does not fit 27" mounting holes only at 39" on 2017 Explorer *by S***Z on Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2022* 2017 Ford Explorer has two rear mounting spots. One at 27" and the other at 39" from front cross bar.
