Please???** A: Their customer service is simply horrid. I am trying to return a brand new, never taken out of box Lomi and they refuse since they have a hidden super short 14 day return window. The problem is that they shipped the Lomi 1.5 months before the estimated delivery - I hid the box away since it was to be a present. Now they tell me I am lying! Their advice - sell it on eBay. I have never been so frustrated and offended by a company. Also, be careful - they automatically sign you up for delivery service of new filters. I just was charged another $50 for an item I want to return. **Q: Requires the use of activated charcoal and lomipods. Does this purchase come with a starter set of charcoal and pods, and if so, how many of each?** A: As others have mentioned, 2 bags of charcoal and 45 tablets. I wanted to mention to those getting riled up about constantly having to buy it, depending on what you want, you don't need to buy their activated carbon/charcoal. They even say that on their website. You can purchase activated charcoal in bulk, even on Amazon (others have used the kind for acquarium filters at far less expense.) As for the tablets, unless you plan to make soil or decompose bioplastics or cardboard, there is no need for the tablet. I just use the eco mode to produce a compostable material I can throw in my green bin, that produces no methane gas. It also finishes in 5 hours or less -- it's a total win-win. **Q: anyone get bribed by the company to remove a 1-star rating? they just offered me $30.00** A: No **Q: Where is it made?** A: We got to quit doing one thing right and one thing wrong.
