The push button connectors allow you to reverse the drill when you hit a clog — which you WILL do if your vent hasn’t been cleaned in 20 years like mine. I could not believe how much lint came out - it was clump after clump!The narrower brush that comes with with this kit was a MUST HAVE for me. I thought the larger diameter one was the only one I needed but I was wrong. Now matter how much I tried to push the larger brush through several clogs it would just stop. Using the narrower brush worked perfectly, with HUGE clumps of lint coming out once you’ve “dug” through it. I kept alternating between the smaller and larger diameter brushes to finally really clean the vent pipe.A few hints:1. Be patient. Use only the slowest speed on your drill. Using high speed does nothing but potentially bind the brush on an obstruction. Go ONE two foot section at a time. Use the narrow brush to clear the path, pull that two foot section completely out, replace it with the larger brush and repeat. Switch the two brushes until that section is clear. You won’t believe how much lint comes out with each section. Add another two foot section and repeat. If you aren’t patient you’ll just create blockages that are difficult to pull out.2. Add a little bit of penetrating oil on the push buttons. It makes it much easier to add sections and push the buttons to remove sections.3. If you have a very long run (mine is over 25 feet) first clean out the first few feet from the dryer side. Then after that, it helps a LOT to put that connection back on and turn the dryer on (no heat) and then clear out sections from the outdoor end. The airflow from the dryer pushes all of the loosened lint outward (kind of messy) rather than letting it just sit in the vent pipe.After cleaning out the whole pipe the airflow was MUCH improved (not to mention much safer). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Dryer Vent Cleaning *by H***5 on Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2019* Product worked as advertised. My vent was not as long as I thought so I could have used the shorter unit. Will be nice if someone needs to borrow it or if the rods break in the future that wasy I have spare rods. Really impressed at how well everything worked. The rods are very flexible so no issues getting up the vent. Even used it to clean the flex hook up pipe just removed some of the rods to shorten it to make it more manageable. I have a newer dryer and it has been installed for five years and the vent was never cleaned. There was plenty of lint built up but I found no blockage. The amount of lint removed was very little so I know that this will not need to be performed as much as my old dryer. I know my old dryer had a loose fitting lint screen in the dryer and it let a lot more lint pass by up the vent pipe in the old house.
