Stated length of the spool is 175 ft. **Q: Hello, can this be used for electrical fence applications? or should I use aluminum wire?** A: I'm not an expert on the topic of electrical fences, but two factors would favor the aluminum wire in my mind: (1) Aluminum is about twice as conductive as carbon steel (http://chemistry.about.com/od/moleculescompounds/a/Table-Of-Electrical-Resistivity-And-Conductivity.htm), which might make the Al more cost-effective from an electricity consumption perspective. (2) The aluminum shouldn't corrode as badly as the steel, and you don't want a layer of rust on the outside of your electrical fence wires, as it will probably reduce the 'poke' it gives out.
