So definitely would take your weight. If you do take a fall I would buy another because of the stress put on it after a fall could compromise it's integrity. It's really similar to the Yates harness which is comparable. I would definitely recommend it if your on a budget and need a decent harness. I am not young anymore being 66 years old and had to limit my carrying of half a bundle up at a time now. The belt helped greatly and I tied long ropes off to each side of our home and repelled down each side of the roof to work removing, cleaning, patching nail holes and repairing with cheap shingles I had or purchased. A tarp is a waste of good money. Blue roofs stink. My roof pitch is 6 on 12 so not to bad, but these are great at any pitch. D ring may help more, I just half hitched half inch rope. Very light, easy to put on, easy to take off, was not in the way of the tool belt as I could adjust it up or down to allow. I originally purchased this harness to use in North Carolina while hiking some advanced trials with my German Shepard. She has a K9 harness that I attached to my harness using climbing carabiners. The specific hike was “Paradise Falls”. While the hike itself is not particularly difficult, there are some areas where caution needs to be used, and I would still classify myself as a beginner when it comes to hiking. More importantly, when I hike with my dog Tater, I am extremely cautious, and I want myself and her to be safe as possible. The harness that I have for my dog is easily connected to the Weanas Thicken climbing harness. The reason why I chose this harness is because of the clip in the front that is easily and efficiently attach to my dog’s harness. Once Tater is safely secured to the Weanas Thicken climbing harness, I can navigate the more serious hills and inclines. The harness is sturdy and well-built enough that it is able to hold my weight as well as the weight of my dog. There is one spot in particular when hiking Paradise Falls where I was able to see the full potential of the harness. In this section of the hike, there is a cliff about 8 feet high that you have to climb down in order to get to the waterfall and appreciate the view. To navigate the cliff safely with my dog, I was able to attach her harness to mine and I began to carry her at my waist and bring her down the cliff safely. The harness is sturdy enough that I am confident that if Tater were to being to struggle or wiggle, she would not be able to slip out and that the harness would continue to support both our weights.
