My optical runs over it great, and my propensity for changing hands with the mouse is no longer a frustration since all I have to do is move the mouse, not the mouse and the pad (which you then have to adjust, etc). Exactly what I wanted. I'm not a huge fan of material pads as they tend to fall apart faster; but, this one is just too great.
