My only issue which I didn't discover till I got them was that with my cats and the fact that I like to open and close my windows and half of my blinds at different parts of the day I had no idea what to do, and certain blinds have to close up and certain ones have to close down, one side down for privacy from neighbors and one side up for the sun that is miserable midday in upstate ny. I ended up using clothes pins, like old school wooden clothes pins I always have a bag of and glue dots, depending on what windows blinds I was attaching them to I either attached the candle up or down to the clothes pin, they were the perfect length and that way my blinds can stay turned closed and the candles be pretty straight up.The directions are pretty straight forward, there's on and off in the middle, plus and minus on the left that can dim or brighten the flame, SL and FL on the right side that controls the flicker of the flame, SL is slower and FL is faster. Once you put the battery in and screw the flame bulb in they're ready to go, the remote will work on them. You can turn them on and off each time manually if you want or there's a timer button that the directions don't explain anywhere and I wanted to use it, I found some explanation elsewhere but I'll explain it here. The timer is for 24 hours, 6 hours on then 18 hours off then starts over again each day, once this function is set you never need to touch anything again till you're done with them or need to change the batteries.-turn each light on-set the brightness-set the slow flicker/fast flicker (or nothing)-at the time you want them to turn on each day point the remote at the candle and press timer once, the candle itself should blink once and it's set for the time you pressed it at(I quickly went around and did each candle in each window so they'd all go on together)It starts to get dark upstate during xmas time around 4:30 so I set it for 4:30 and they go off at 10:30 every night like clockwork. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly what I expected! *by H***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 16, 2018* I was hesitant to buy these lights based on some of the reviews, but I am so glad I did! I have had them in my amazon save for later cart for weeks. I’ve also had a few other candle sets there as well. I would go back and forth between these and the others. I finally decided on these due to the better reviews - despite some of the negative. And also because of the price and the timer function. One set I was looking at was $39. It came with 10 taller candles with holders and a timer. I didn’t want to spend that much for something that wouldn’t work or wouldn’t meet my expectations. Plus I need at least two sets. So I kept coming back to this set. I was hesitant on the size of this set as I plan to use them in my windows for Christmas. Based on one reviewers pictures I decided to go for it. They arrived in two days (Prime member). I opened the box last night and snapped two pics. This morning I put in all the batteries and took the last pic. So far they meet me expectations. The size is perfect for what I need, the light is bright enough - and I like that I can adjust it if I want - plus I can adjust the flicker. The on and off function works. I had no problems with the remote. I haven’t had them long enough to try the timer function but I will update in a few weeks. I just wanted to get this review out quickly in case there are others out there that want these but are hesitant to buy. I say buy them! I may order one more just to have because I can find many ways to use them this holiday season. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty & Bright - but Shorter Than Expected *by C***8 on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 27, 2018* Have had these running for three weeks and they are very pretty and bright however they aren't as tall as I thought. That said, they are still a very good product. I used the window suction cup adapters for holiday window decor.The directions are NOT well written and are pretty useless. The remote itself is simple however after three weeks, I'm still not sure how the timer function works. The directions are incomprehensible. All I know is that they go on at 4:30 PM every night and they are off in the morning when we get up.HINT: USE GOOD BATTERIES - no-name cheap batteries last for about 12 hours. GOOD quality batteries have kept these lit for more than 6 hours a day for 3+ weeks.I would definitely recommend these for use with the suction cups. I'm not sure if these would stay up straight using the clip.
