There's a pull tab over the powder (I assume for protection); It will spill if you don't hold it a certain way. Some of the powder got on my counter and shirt. (Nothing to stress over) In the package, there's a cardboard box with the toothbrush in it. Obviously, it's for the powder & you obviously wet the toothbrush. Anyways, I proceeded to brush my teeth with it. It was messy. I don't care how tight you shut your mouth while brushing your teeth, it's going to make a mess. However, the charcoal didn't stain my skin, clothes, or counter; so I was happy about that. Overall, the toothpaste did a relatively good job for the first use.It didn't have a smell nor a taste, so that was a plus.It also comes with toothpicks/floss, which comes in handy after brushing. I’ll brush with this for 3-4 days straight and I’ll switch to my Tom’s for a few days and then back to this charcoal toothpaste for another 3-4 days and I’ll go back and forth. I’ve noticed my teeth is starting to get whiter as well but I also started doing a natural mouthwash that helps whiten teeth.
